Centerville Municipal Pool

Centerville Municipal Pool

Centerville, IA

The Centerville Municipal Pool has a rich history dating back to the late 1930’s when the project was constructed as part of the Work Projects Administration (WPA). A renovation of the Pool in the 1980’s helped update the facility, however the facility was in need of continued renovations to meet current accessibility, health, and safety requirements. In addition, renovations to the Pool site and amenities were integrated into the City-wide initiative to enhance the lives of Centerville residents and further support the area’s commitment to health and wellness. To do so, ISG worked collaboratively with the City of Centerville to ensure the Pool renovation creates an amenity that is effectively integrated into the surrounding parks master plan. This included a highly engaging  public involvement process that helped the City obtain valuable insight from the community while also building consensus and support for the project. Designs include a bathhouse renovations, addition of zero depth entry replace pool filter system, construction of filter system, pool reconstruction, and additional amenities throughout the site. ADA accessibility, stormwater drainage, and budget management were significant drivers of overall design goals.
