Humboldt Pavement Management Study

Humboldt Pavement Management Study

Humboldt, Iowa

This infrastructure planning project incorporated the services of civil and municipal engineering and planning experts. An initial assessment of the condition of the City’s entire forty-five mile road network was conducted. Each segment was provided a rating from 0 to 100 using the Pavement Condition Index. Preventative maintenance solutions were then provided based on the existing conditions. An annual budget was recommended for preventative measures to ensure streets are well maintained. A fifty year street reconstruction schedule was also developed which prioritized street improvements and provided current day cost estimates to help the City plan financially for future improvements. A work session with the City Council was conducted to share implementation strategies and recommendations.
