Minnesota State University, Mankato – Athletic Facility Master Plan

Minnesota State University, Mankato – Athletic Facility Master Plan

Mankato, MN

To further develop a vibrant college campus and intramural sports program, Minnesota State University, Mankato engaged I+S Group (ISG) to study and develop a new master plan for an on campus ice center, three new football fields, three new softball fields, and a new field house.

The field house would be part of the renovation of an existing underutilized track to transform it into a competition level soccer field complete with new bleachers. The new proposed Ice Center would bring the Women’s Hockey program closer to the heart of the Minnesota State Mankato sports district from their current off campus location.

The proposed 75,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility includes two full sheets of ice, a lobby area, restrooms, locker rooms, and offices. ISG’s preliminary designs include materials such as brick, local limestone, and composite metal panels in the University’s school colors purple and gold.
