60,000 Square Feet

The 60,000 square foot facility was the world’s largest and most advanced dynamic glass manufacturing plant of its time. The plant manufactures the largest thin-film coating system for glass production. The headquarters and manufacturing facility project included the design of an eye-catching entrance with reflective glass to allow for natural lighting and positioned the entrance for the best visibility from Interstate 35 in Faribault, MN. In order for employees to be able to enjoy the nearby wetland and wildlife area that existed on the lot, the floor plan was arranged in a way so the cafeteria was in a prime viewing location.

The office layout is spacious and has private yet un-partitioned working spaces. A modern, honeycomb workstation concept was incorporated into the plan which allows employees to work at a particular station specific to the job at hand. In addition, a modular building design was used to facilitate a cost-effective future expansion.
