Veteran’s Memorial Place

Veteran’s Memorial Place

Mankato, MN

Located at the foot of the Veterans Memorial Bridge that spans over the Minnesota River in downtown Mankato, this memorial serves as a tribute to the sacrifices of America’s armed forces. Veteran’s Memorial Place is a site of remembrance dedicated to all veterans who have served our Country, in both peacetime and in war. I+S Group (ISG) worked with a dedicated local veterans committee in the design of this memorial.

The five points of the star represent the five service branches of the United States Military. Each service branch is also represented by a stone plaque emblazoned with its official seal. Brick pavers recognize service members with their name, rank and dates of service. Veteran’s Memorial Place is part of the trail of heroes, which includes 13 other memorial sites to commemorate the sacrifices of veterans from the 1800’s to present day. ISG donated the design of the memorial as well as construction administration services for this project.
