Associate Principal, Water Solutions Group Leader
Uma has over 17 years of national and international experience in the civil and environmental engineering field, bringing a wide breadth of knowledge to ISG’s innovative civil engineering group. Uma has extensive expertise in the planning and analysis of surface and groundwater supply systems, water and wastewater treatment systems, distribution and collection system infrastructure, and storm sewer infrastructure.
Surrounded by drinking water related challenges in South India, Uma practices his childhood passion; to proactively address water related challenges and make a positive environmental impact. As a water professional, Uma takes great pride in truly understanding each stage of the water management process, providing effective and efficient solutions to each community served. Uma’s engaging personality and active listening style allow him to fully understand the needs of clients and water related issues, offering unique and sustainable services.
Uma is actively involved and recognized in the industry. He served on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) between 2014 and 2017, he frequently presented at local and national water conferences. Uma was awarded the 2016 Andrew Sullivan Outstanding leadership award from the Minnesota Chapter of AWWA. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of AWWA’s Diversity and Member Inclusion Committee (DMIC). He is also a member of Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) Small Community Systems Committee.
Always focused on improving water quality and access, Uma recently completed the Water Leadership Institute, a six-month educational program sponsored by Water Environment Federation. He also stays engaged in the Minnesota Rural Water Association, American Academy of Environmental Engineers, and the Project Management Institute.
